Passport
Please make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your planned return.
Visas
A visa is required to enter Turkey and will be arranged by Lightline.
Electricity
Voltage in Turkey is 220 Volts, 50 Hz, it is advisable to take a universal travel plug adapter of European standard..
Travel Insurance
Please ensure you have medical and repatriation cover and have given Lightline the name and telephone number of your insurance company together with the policy number. As this is part of the Terms and Conditions that you have accepted we have the right to refuse passage if this is not complied with.

Medicines & other essentials
If you have any medical conditions, which require you to take medicines or if you have special essential dietary requirements, please don’t forget to take these with you as they may not be available at your destination.

Language
English is Turkey's second widest spoken language and you will easily find English speakers in the major cities and holiday resorts. Restaurant menus and other information for foreigners are often printed in English.
Currency
The local currency in Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TL) available in the following denominations:
Banknotes: 5, 10, 20, 50 &100 TL;
Coins: 10, 25 & 50 kuru? and 1 TL.
Cash can usually be exchanged without commission at bureau de changes (döviz), banks and hotels.
(Note that Scottish notes are not accepted in Turkey).
Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in shops and restaurants throughout Turkey. However it is advisable also to carry cash for the smaller shops and cafes, particularly in more rural areas.
It is advisable to inform your bank in advance that you are travelling to Turkey as some will automatically put a stop on cards after the first use in an attempt to combat fraud.
Gratuities & Donations
A gratuity (tips) is a way of showing your satisfaction with a service rendered - guides, drivers and hotel staff all expect a tip.
