A Pilgrimage for Pusey House

Father Daniel Burton is an Anglican priest who was brought up in a Baptist Church in Rossendale, Lancashire. After reading theology at Regent’s Park College, Oxford he worked for two years in a children’s home in Ramallah in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories. In Ramallah he developed a love for the Middle East and an interest in Islam and Judaism. Since 1989 he has served in churches in Hemel Hempstead and South Wales. In 2003 he moved to an inner city parish in Manchester where he is actively involved in inter-faith work. He has been a trustee of the charity BibleLands since 1992 and was chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2006 -2009. He has led pilgrimages to Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Armenia but most often to the Holy Land. This pilgrimage has been designed especially for Pusey House. As important as visiting the holy sites will be meeting local Christians, and our pilgrimage will include a daily Mass.

Father Jonathan Baker is the Principal of Pusey House. He read English at St John’s College, Oxford, and completed two years of graduate work in early modern poetry before moving to St Stephen’s House to read Theology in preparation for ordination. He was ordained Deacon in 1993 and Priest in 1994 and spent the next ten years in parochial ministry - seven as them as Incumbent of Holy Trinity, Reading and St Mark’s, Reading - before returning to Oxford and to Pusey House in 2003.
