To Be A Pilgrim

I invite you to join me on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in the autumn of 2010. During the ten days we will spend travelling in the homeland of Jesus Christ, we will visit many of the sites associated with his birth, ministry, death and resurrection - an experience which many Christians over many centuries have found nourishes and stimulates their faith in a unique way. As well as visiting places that remind us of the historical story of Jesus, we will also visit his heirs - the Christian communities who live in difficult and pressurized circumstances in these places today. Our aim in doing this is to offer the Christians o f today’s Holy Land our support and prayers, and to hear their stories - stories which are sometimes as profoundly moving and inspiring as the stories of the gospels. Thus, during our time on pilgrimage, we will aim to visit an Anglican school in Nazareth, where Good News is announced day by day through its pioneering work; in Bethlehem we will visit a world-class neo-natal hospital, handling complex and urgent deliveries only yards from the place of Jesus’ birth; in Jerusalem we will encounter Christians proclaiming the message of hope, peace and resurrection in the face of constant despair, violence and death. Even the very act of coming on this pilgrimage will support our brother and sister Christians in Palestine and Israel - all the money spent on our touring programme will be placed in the hands of Christian companies, coaches, hotels, guides, etc. Please join me for a life changing journey!
