Day 1      Saturday 11th September

We fly from London to Rome airport on a morning flight to the city. On arrival we will be met and drive to the House of St Bridget in Assisi where we will be staying for the duration of our visit.

Day 2      Sunday 12th September

Starting our exploration of Assisi we visit some of the churches of the city. We will spend our time enjoying the Medieval charms of old Assisi including, of course, the Basilicas of St Francis and St Clare.

Day 3      Monday 13 September

Today we depart from the House of St Bridget with our guide and coach and begin the day at the Carceri Hermitage, a quiet place of contemplation and isolation so loved by St Francis. Later we move onto the church and convent of San Damiano where St Francis received his calling whilst in prayer. Here again we have time to reflect before finishing the day at the place known as the Oratory of St Francis or San Francesco Piccolo.

Day 4      Tuesday 14 September

We continue our exploration of Assisi together, enjoying the beautiful scenery, historical churches and the Italian atmosphere.

Day 5      Wednesday 15 September

A day of reflection with addresses in the chapel.

Day 6      Thursday 16 September

Our final full day in Italy will be spent visiting Orvieto including the cathedral and enjoying a ride on the famous funicular railway.

Day 7      Friday 17 September

As we finish our journey together, we have the morning to spend some last moments in one another’s company or in quiet reflection before returning to Rome for the afternoon flight back to London where our journey ends.
